I've joined forces with the brilliant dancer/choreographer Lux LaCroix to curate a new show happening the third Monday of every month at Hollywood cocktail lounge Three Clubs. Called "Third Tease at Three's," the night is a special edition of LA's longest-running burlesque show, Monday Night Tease, and features top-shelf professional entertainers drawn from an international pool of burlesque; boylesque; and variety arts performers. Click here to see each month's lineup and get advance tickets to this intimate showroom show. Three Clubs is located at 1123 N Vine Street in Hollywood, CA.

OC Weekly's Leandra Romero interviewed me while I got ready to play Luke Skywalker in the recent Star Girls Star Wars burlesque show at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. Star Girls creator and producer Courtney Cruz makes an appearance; the clip also has great footage of the Landspeeder violin Carlos Flores made for me shooting fireworks from its jets! Check out the whole video here: http://blogs.ocweekly.com/heardmentality/2014/07/star_wars_burlesque_girls_yost_theater_santa_ana_video.php
Don't miss the next full-scale Star Girls show in Hollywood, coming to the Dragonfly nightclub August 15th! Tickets and more info are available on the Devil's Playground Burlesque website.

I recently had the honor of being elected to my local neighborhood council here in Los Angeles! Campaigning for public office was a great experience, and I'm committed to doing my best to represent the people who trusted me with their votes. The work thus far has been challenging, but fascinating, and in my rapidly changing, gentrifying neighborhood, it's been heartening to see that one voice really can make a difference.
Next time I'm up for election, though, I think I need to campaign in the style of Alice Cooper! This 1972 promo clip for the song "Elected" (Billion Dollar Babies) is one of the first MTV-style music videos ever made:
Thanks to Los Angeles Magazine for the mention in their lovely article on the show this coming Saturday January 18th at underground arts collective HM157! I'll be doing a burlesque solo as well as playing violin in Prince Poppycock's band. Show starts at 9; this event is to raise funds to make HM157 a fully licensed venue, so your $10 donation at the door is greatly appreciated. Check out the Facebook event page to learn more about the fabulous bill for this show, which includes luminaries like actress and performance artist Ann Magnuson: https://www.facebook.com/events/580788382000815/
